SELAH, WA - After a good performance from both Selah boys and girls basketball teams this last Saturday, it is safe to assume that the Vikings are in good shape as the 2nd half of the season begins.
The Lady Viks were the first to tip off and run away from the Wildcats, winning 60 to 36. Selah was led by Kylie Wilkey's 25-point night making 3 of her 4 three-point attempts. Ashley Shurtleff added to an all-around good-scoring night for the Vikings with 11 points of her own. The Lady Viks have the week to recover and resume conference play this Friday traveling to Ephrata to take on the Tigers.
Senior Zak Donato had arguably his best all-around game of the season so far. He led the Vikings in the rebounding and scoring category with 27 points and 20 rebounds, leading to an inevitable win for the Vikings as they held off the 2nd-best team in the conference, winning 87-67. Elijah Pepper and Keegan Morford were also in the double-digit scoring category with Pepper recording 21 points and Morford recording 10. The Vikings travel with the Lady Viks to Ephrata as well this Friday to take on the 9-6 Tigers.
Zak Donato drives on a Grandview defender earlier this season in Karl Kellman Gymnasium.
