Viking Football Runs Away From Wapato

Updated: Oct 16, 2017

SELAH, WA - On a chilly, electric homecoming Friday night, the Selah football team pounded the Wolves of Wapato convincingly 65-7 - earning them a 5-0 record and an automatic spot in the playoffs.

Out of the gates, it seemed as the Vikings would have a long night, fumbling the ball on the first play from scrimmage! But after another opening fumble by Wapato the next play, the Vikings gained back possession and scored immediately. It was all Vikings from there with Senior QB Zak Donato connecting on 17 of 22 passing for 323 yards and six touchdowns. At halftime, it seemed like the Vikings would score 100 points!

A huge night for the Vikings attracted points on the scoreboard aa well as huge stats on paper. To add to Donato's night, Junior WR Jake Weber led the Vikings in the rushing category with a huge 45-yard touchdown run in the first half. Fellow Junior Cameron Ditter had a big night as well in the receiving category with 4 receptions for 143 yards and two touchdowns. After a night like this, Selah Football should be confident heading into the end of the season.

The undefeated Vikings travel to Ephrata Friday the 13th to take on the Tigers.
