XC Performs Well at Sunfair

Updated: Oct 3, 2017

YAKIMA, WA - The Selah Vikings Cross Country Teams came to a warm and sunny Franklin Park Saturday with high aspirations in mind. Those aspirations were quickly accomplished.

The girls JV started the day off with a bang as the Varsity followed with a fantastic 2A-and-Under Division victory. Senior Molly Mattson and Junior Kaylea Hartman led the Lady Viks with fantastic 3-mile times and top 10 places in their respective flights. On the boys side, the Vikings had a spectacular day in the office with the JV doing well as Reece Ozanich placed 4th individually in the Freshmen 2-mile race in respectable competition. Sophomore Shea Mattson and Senior leader Daniel Callahan led the varsity to a 2nd place in the 2A-and-Under Division as a team behind rival Bellingham.

Both Selah Cross Country Teams travel to Ephrata on Thursday October 5th to compete in their second league meet of the season.
